Overview

Storable is seeking two experienced Software Development Managers to lead software development across our Marine and RV & Camping divisions. These leaders will build and modernize the software that powers the day-to-day operations of marinas, boatyards, yacht clubs, RV parks, campgrounds, resorts, and other specialty property businesses.

We are hiring for two distinct opportunities under this posting:

Marine (Storable Marine): Our Marine platform, including Molo and Rentals, supports marina, boat storage, service/yard, boat rental fleet, and boat-club management. Key workflows include slips and storage, reservations, online bookings, rentals, point of sale, payments, customer and vessel records, service operations, and reporting.

RV & Camping (Newbook): Our RV & Camping platform supports outdoor hospitality operators managing sites and accommodations, reservations, online bookings, guest management, point of sale, payments, housekeeping and maintenance, channel and OTA integrations, and reporting.

Each Software Development Manager will lead a dedicated engineering team within their respective division, delivering reliable, scalable technology that transforms how operators run their businesses and serve their customers.

Our teams are deliberately lean and own their software from design through production, with no dedicated QE, DevOps, SRE, or Architect roles. We are looking for AI-native leaders and force multipliers who have already redesigned how engineering teams work around agentic AI, can demonstrate measurable results, and know how to make a lean, high-caliber team deliver like a much larger organization.

About the Role

As a Software Development Manager at Storable, you will lead an engineering team responsible for building and modernizing mission-critical SaaS applications used by operators and their customers around the world.

Our technology environments include backend systems built with Node.js, PHP, and .NET, frontend applications primarily using React and JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL databases, and REST APIs. Specific technologies vary by division, with Marine utilizing Node.js, .NET, and PHP, and RV & Camping primarily utilizing PHP for backend development.

You will be accountable for the health of both your team and the systems it owns, setting the standard for engineering excellence, technical execution, and the responsible use of AI as a core engineering capability.

Your primary focus will be people leadership and team delivery, but this is not a process-only role. You will remain technically engaged through architecture and design reviews, code reviews, debugging, pairing, and occasional production coding, grounded in personal experience taking software from architecture through automated testing, deployment, and operations.

What Ownership Means in This Role

Our engineers are full-stack in both senses: they work hands-on across backend and frontend technologies, and they own their systems end to end.

There are no dedicated QE, DevOps, SRE, or Architect roles to hand work off to. As Software Development Manager, you are accountable for making that model successful and establishing the practices, guardrails, and automation that enable engineers to deliver confidently.

Architecture & Technical Design: Own the architecture and technical design of your team's systems, aligned with division-wide direction established in partnership with Staff Software Development Engineers.

Quality & Testing: Own test strategy, automated unit, integration, end-to-end, and frontend testing, regression coverage, and release confidence.

Development & Deployment: Own how the team builds and ships software, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, environments, and production deployments.

Operational Health: Own observability, alerting, service-level targets, sustainable on-call practices, incident response, and post-incident learning.

Security & Scalability: Own security, performance, scalability, operating cost, and compliance readiness for your team's systems.
