Accountabilities

  • Course Audits and Evaluation: Review 13 existing online courses from the learner's perspective, assessing structure, pacing, engagement, accessibility, assessments, and overall learning experience. Produce clear evaluation reports with prioritized, actionable recommendations using provided templates.
  • Identify outdated content, inconsistencies, and gaps in alignment with current methodologies and brand standards, flagging items requiring subject-matter expert review. Recommend whether courses need targeted improvements or complete redevelopment, including estimated effort.
  • Course Development and Redesign: Update existing courses or rebuild them from scratch in Articulate Rise 360 based on approved recommendations. Design interactive learning experiences, including knowledge checks, practical scenarios, and assessments that reinforce learning and reflect real-world coaching situations.
  • Integrate videos, graphics, and other multimedia assets effectively, identifying additional creative resources needed to enhance course quality and engagement.
  • Ensure all courses meet accessibility requirements and provide a seamless experience across desktop and mobile devices. Test published courses within the learning management system to verify tracking, completion, and credit reporting functionality.
  • New Course Design: Review complete content packages for new courses and recommend appropriate delivery strategies, including instructional structure, sequencing, interactivity, multimedia, and assessment approaches.
  • Transform subject-matter expert content into clear, engaging digital learning experiences, identifying opportunities to refine, expand, or streamline material. Develop new Articulate Rise 360 courses as the learning catalog expands.
  • Localization and Accessibility: Design courses with future translation and localization requirements in mind, ensuring text, media, and interactive elements can be adapted efficiently. Prepare learning materials for localization workflows and support the implementation and review of translated versions.
  • Standards and Collaboration: Work closely with the education content team to maintain alignment with established methodologies, brand identity, and communication standards. Develop or refine reusable templates, design standards, and style guidelines to ensure consistency across the course library.
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and reviewers through iterative review cycles, manage timelines across multiple projects, communicate progress regularly, and proactively identify potential risks or delays.

Requirements

  • At least five years of professional instructional design experience, with a minimum of three years of hands-on Articulate Rise 360 experience within the past three years.
  • A portfolio showcasing live Articulate Rise 360 course builds is required as part of the application.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies, including ADDIE, SAM, Merrill's Principles of Instruction, and Bloom's Taxonomy.
  • Advanced, up-to-date practical expertise in Articulate Rise 360, including content blocks, interactive elements, quizzes, Storyline blocks, and creative design within the platform's capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience auditing, evaluating, and redesigning existing online courses, beyond simply developing new learning content.
  • Strong assessment design capabilities, particularly in developing scenario-based questions and knowledge checks that measure practical application rather than simple information recall.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured, and actionable recommendations that can be understood and implemented by non-designers.
  • Working knowledge of digital accessibility standards and SCORM publishing for learning management systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time contract environment, manage multiple priorities, organize workloads effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to incorporate feedback and communicate project progress proactively.
