Accountabilities:
Define the project's technical architecture and overall direction, ensuring the development team follows agreed standards and design decisions.
Lead day-to-day engineering activities, including planning work, prioritising tasks, removing blockers, and coordinating team delivery.
Remain hands-on in software development, contributing directly to code and technical implementation.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, providing estimates, communicating risks, and proposing appropriate solutions.
Establish and maintain engineering quality standards across testing, code reviews, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and technical documentation.
Review code and provide technical guidance to ensure maintainable, scalable, and reliable solutions.
Mentor engineers, support their professional development, and encourage knowledge sharing within the team.
Introduce and integrate AI tools into development workflows to improve productivity, delivery speed, and software quality.
Make informed architectural and technical trade-offs to balance project requirements, scalability, and delivery constraints.
Communicate technical decisions, project progress, and potential challenges clearly to both engineering teams and clients.
Requirements
At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
At least 3 years of experience leading technical teams or coordinating engineering delivery.
Strong experience with Flutter for mobile development or Next.js and React for web development.
Practical experience using Python for backend development.
Proven ability to design scalable software architectures and make sound technical decisions and trade-offs.
Experience acting as a technical counterpart for clients or other stakeholders, including estimating work, managing expectations, and communicating risks.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide engineers and coordinate development activities.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
English proficiency of at least B2; some client projects may require C1 proficiency.
Nice to have
Experience across both mobile and web development.
Cloud platform experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
Previous experience working in a software development consultancy or software factory.
Experience building products that incorporate Large Language Models (LLMs) or other AI-powered features.
