What is a Sales Training Associate?

The Sales Training Associate (STA) Program is an immersive and comprehensive 6–12-month program designed to introduce new college graduates to AtriCure and the medical device industry. As a Sales Training Associate, you’ll gain the clinical knowledge, business acumen, and field experience needed to build a strong foundation for long-term success in the competitive and rewarding medical device industry.

Through our Sales Training Excellence Program, you’ll learn directly from the Global Training and Education team, Sales Managers, Territory Managers and experienced Field Clinical Specialists while gaining exposure to customers, procedures, and the day-to-day realities of supporting a growing medical device business. Through our Sales Training Excellence Program, you will be trained via classroom training, cadaver labs, and through engagement with experienced field team members and other health care customers.

Upon successfully completing and graduating from the STA Program, the STA will be eligible to move into a Clinical Specialist role within one of our three franchises. This will be contingent upon the availability of a position and may be located anywhere within the US. The STA Program is focused on developing and building the fundamental clinical and business skills necessary to drive business growth and procedural adoption in the field.

  • Develop a strong foundation in clinical concepts, products, procedures, and disease states
  • Gain hands-on field experience alongside experienced sales and clinical professionals
  • Build the communication, customer engagement, and business skills needed to succeed in a field-based role
  • Learn how clinical expertise and commercial strategy work together to support procedural adoption and business growth
  • Receive coaching, mentorship, and ongoing feedback from experienced leaders and field professionals
  • Prepare for the next step in your career as a Clinical Specialist

During the 6–12-month period, the STA will be required to meet predetermined milestones, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Passing AFE & PFE training in all procedural segments
  • Completing confidence lab requirements demonstrating the ability to support clinical cases
  • Support 30 procedures in hospital operating rooms via field shadowing experiences (locations will vary)
  • Conducting in-services and other presentations required by designated accounts

What You Bring

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree attained from an accredited university/college between May 2026 and December 2026 is required.
