CAD/PLM Admin
AST SpaceMobile and our global partners are building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network to be accessible by standard smartphones. Called SpaceMobile, this ultra-powerful network is being designed to provide connectivity at 4G/5G speeds everywhere on the planet – on land, at sea and in flight.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CAD/PLM Administrator to join our Barcelona engineering team. This role serves as the technical authority for the administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of our CAD, PDM, and PLM infrastructure, with primary emphasis on PTC Windchill as our enterprise PLM platform and a multi-CAD environment spanning PTC Creo, Siemens NX, and Autodesk Inventor. The successful candidate will ensure engineering data is properly governed, organized, and accessible across global teams while supporting system administration, workflow configuration, CAD tooling, integration management, and user enablement. This is a hands-on technical role with broad organizational impact, supporting aerospace and satellite engineering programs in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage CAD administration across PTC Creo, Siemens NX, and Autodesk Inventor, including installations, upgrades, integrations, configuration, and user support.
• Define and manage engineering data workflows supporting design creation, review, release, revision control, effectivity management, and configuration governance.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Configuration Management teams to align PLM processes with program and customer requirements.
• Manage integrations between Windchill and downstream enterprise systems, including ERP and quality management platforms.
• Oversee software license management, utilization tracking, renewals, and vendor relationships with PTC, Siemens, and Autodesk.
• Support CAD and PLM data migration projects, legacy system imports, vault consolidations, and system implementations.
• Develop, document, and enforce CAD standards, file naming conventions, template libraries, and best practices.
• Automate and streamline engineering data processes through workflow configuration, scripting, and standardization initiatives.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, workflow guidance, and issue resolution for engineering users.
• Develop and deliver training programs, onboarding materials, work instructions, and software rollout plans.
• Coordinate with global engineering data management teams to ensure consistency in PLM governance and CAD standards.
• Support software budget forecasting, contract reviews, licensing strategies, and vendor management activities.
