Your Mission

VÆRIDION is a pioneering electric aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) dedicated to revolutionizing regional air mobility and sustainable aviation. We are committed to designing and producing cutting-edge electric conventional take-off and landing (eCTOL) aircraft that provide safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly transportation solutions.

As a Senior High Voltage Systems Engineer, you will significantly contribute to the design, development, and certification of the aircraft's high voltage systems. You will work as part of a multi-functional team, reporting to the HV Systems Team Lead, and covering HV system development and electrical integration, including battery systems, power electronics, HV EWIS, distribution equipment and associated sub-systems. Your daily tasks will include a variety of technical activities for the HV Electrical Systems team.

Every day will bring new challenges, and you will be given a healthy amount of responsibility and autonomy, always supported by the team.

Your Day-to-Day

Define performance, functional, installation and other applicable system requirements, allocate them to components, and plan and support their validation and verification (V&V) in line with standards such as ARP4754.

Define HV system functions, architecture, sizing and specifications, and integrate the aircraft HV distribution system to meet safety and performance requirements.

Develop interface control documents (ICDs) covering physical and functional interfaces with the aircraft structure and related systems.

Lead technical tasks for Microliner development and certification, and create system documentation from requirements definition to demonstration of compliance.

Define aircraft-level HV electrical bonding and grounding requirements and their implementation.

Coordinate HV system safety analyses and systems engineering activities, address environmental conditions including HIRF and EMI, and define lightning protection requirements for the HV propulsion electrical network based on the defined aircraft lightning zones.

Define and specify the aircraft charging interface, and break down its requirements to component level.

Specify power quality and electrical insulation requirements and draft the aircraft electrical load analysis, including tasks such as defining and maintaining a Y-capacitance budget for the propulsion electrical network and allocating limits to components.

Support integration of the HV system digital mock-up (DMU) into the aircraft 3D model.

Identify, assess and manage suppliers, and own work packages for the development, installation and integration of HV components, including fuses, switches, harnesses and grounding systems.

Perform or support analyses and simulations to improve HV propulsion battery performance, reliability and integration into the propulsion system.

Participate in supplier technical and program reviews (TRM and PRM) and key milestones, including PDR, CDR, First Flight and Type Certification.

Define and plan HV equipment qualification campaigns with the Technology Department, suppliers and other stakeholders.

Prepare, commission, troubleshoot and execute HV hardware and software tests, from component benches to full-scale prototypes and aircraft ground and flight tests.

Follow engineering processes and standards, and contribute to design reviews supporting development and certification goals.

Your Profile

Master’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field.

Proven experience of at least 5 years in electrical systems design and integration within an aerospace OEM or similar industry (preferably automotive).

Experience with electric aircraft is a plus, including power electronics, energy storage and electric propulsion systems.

Working knowledge of systems engineering and safety analyses per aerospace standards such as ARP4754 and ARP4761 or automotive standard such as ISO26262. Proficiency on airborne hardware and software qualification per ED-12/ED-80 (DO-178/DO-254), and practical experience with aircraft certification is a plus.
