Your impact

This is a full cycle outbound sales role focused on the Italian market, where you own everything from prospecting to onboarding. You'll be targeting mid-market to enterprise merchants, primarily in e-commerce, fashion, pharmaceuticals, and electronics, managing deals that range from three to nine months in duration and cover companies transacting over €500K monthly. The goal is clear: bring meaningful payment volume onto Mollie's platform and help build our presence in one of Europe's most opportunity-rich markets.

Italy is a market where merchants are often price-driven and deeply tied to their existing payment providers. That means your job is not just to sell but to educate. You'll position Mollie as the smarter choice by demonstrating real value, navigating pricing objections with confidence, and building relationships with decision makers at the C-level. The merchants who work with you will leave with a better understanding of payments and a platform that genuinely improves how they operate.

You'll be part of a fast-growing team based in Milan, working in a sales culture that rewards structure, ownership, and ambition. With fewer but larger competitors than in other European markets, Italy offers the chance to build meaningful, lasting merchant relationships while contributing to a pipeline that targets €10M or more in annual transaction volume.

What you'll ship

A consistent outbound pipeline built through 35 to 50 cold calls per week, targeted prospecting, and disciplined data-driven activity planning that keeps deals moving at every stage

Follow-up with inbound marketing and partnership leads, using our suite of sales tools, and attend in-person events to increase sourced leads

Sign mid-market and enterprise merchant contracts, managing the full deal lifecycle from first contact through negotiation, pricing, contract handling, and live transaction

A balanced portfolio of deals that mixes shorter-term closable opportunities with longer-term complex negotiations, ensuring steady revenue contribution alongside pipeline growth

Smooth merchant onboarding outcomes, coordinated with sales engineers and customer success managers to make sure every merchant goes live and stays live

C-level relationships with e-commerce managers, CEOs and leadership executives built on trust, payment expertise, and a clear demonstration of Mollie's value over incumbent solutions

Accurate sales forecasting and pipeline reporting that gives the team full visibility into deal health and expected outcomes

What you'll bring

Around 5 years of experience in commercial roles, with 3 years of full cycle ownership.

Extensive experience running inbound and outbound sales cycles end to end, with a track record of cold outreach that converts and a structured approach to pipeline management

Familiarity with value-based sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, or similar frameworks, and the ability to apply them in complex, multi-stakeholder deals

Experience selling customized or competitive products where the challenge is displacing an existing solution rather than creating new demand, including handling negotiations and contract discussions

Confidence in technical sales conversations, including working alongside sales engineers to address product and integration questions during the sales process

Proficiency in both Italian and English, with strong communication and networking skills that hold up in C-level conversations
