We are looking for a Warehouse Manager to own the day-to-day integrity, security, and control environment of M-KOPA’s warehouse and inbound/outbound logistics operations in Kenya.
This role offers the opportunity to be the site-level custodian of warehouse controls at one of Africa’s fastest-growing fintechs, owning everything from inventory discipline and customs compliance to people development and third-party relationships. You’ll enforce disciplined storage and inventory controls, keep imports and clearing activity compliant with customs and regulatory requirements, drive down obsolete and ageing stock, and build a capable, well-managed warehouse and logistics team. Working closely with Finance, the Head of Manufacturing, and cross-functional stakeholders, your decisions protect the organisation from compliance risk, stock loss, and operational inefficiency every single day.
About Us
We foster a culture where operational discipline meets continuous improvement. Our team values inventory accuracy, compliance rigor, and warehouse leadership that builds accountability into every process. You’ll be empowered to enforce controls, develop your team, and drive improvements that directly contribute to operational efficiency and business performance, working in a fast-paced environment where your standards determine how well the entire supply chain operates.
At M-KOPA, our warehouse isn’t just a storage facility—it’s a critical operational hub that keeps devices moving to millions of customers across Africa, and the controls you enforce protect the integrity of every transaction that flows through it.
In this role, you would be responsible for
Warehouse Space & Racking Controls
Ensuring rented warehouse racks and paid storage space are used exclusively for items of value—finished goods, saleable inventory, and materials with recognised book value
Conducting periodic rack utilisation audits and reallocating or clearing any rented space holding non-qualifying items
Maintaining an accurate rack/bin-location map always reconciled against the WMS/ERP system
Marketing Merchandise Control
Ensuring every category of marketing merchandise held in the warehouse is covered by a signed Service Level Agreement (SLA) specifying the goods-in receiving process, required documentation, and maximum allowable storage period
Tracking merchandise against SLA storage limits and proactively flagging, escalating, and clearing any merchandise approaching or exceeding its maximum storage time
Declining to receive marketing merchandise where no valid SLA exists, escalating to management before accepting any exception
Inventory Ageing & Obsolescence Management
Collaborating with Finance to produce and publish a monthly Inventory Ageing Report, giving management full visibility of inventory at risk
Reviewing the ageing report monthly with Finance and relevant stakeholders to agree corrective actions and track them to closure
Fully implementing the company Disposal Policy, ensuring obsolete, damaged, or written-off items are continually identified and disposed of within policy timelines with complete documentation and approvals
Maintaining a disposal register/tracker and reporting disposal volumes, values, and ageing trends to management monthly
Imports & Logistics Compliance
Coordinating inbound logistics with clearing agents, customs authorities, and government bodies to ensure smooth, compliant, and timely clearance of goods across borders
Ensuring all import documentation (bills of lading, customs declarations, duty remission paperwork, permits) is accurate, complete, and audit-ready
Executing duty remission and applicable customs schemes accurately, monitoring compliance conditions on an ongoing basis to protect the organisation from retrospective duty claims or penalties
Escalating any compliance risk, customs query, or regulatory exposure to management and Finance/Legal without delay
Establishing and enforcing standards for outbound logistics to ensure timely, accurate, and properly documented delivery of products
