Bedrock Training & Certification Lead
Join the team bringing autonomy to the built world
At Bedrock, we're moving AI out of the lab and onto real job sites. Our team includes veterans who helped launch Waymo, scaled Segment to a $3.2B acquisition, and grew Uber Freight to $5B in revenue. We retrofit the heavy equipment contractors already own, starting with excavators, so experienced crews can safely take on more projects and deliver more of the critical infrastructure our society needs.
In August 2026, Bedrock-equipped excavators began doing fully autonomous, paid work on live commercial job sites. We've more than doubled our customer base since 2025, and our machines now work with contractors across the South, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic
In October 2026, we raised a $600M Series C co-led by CapitalG and Emergence Capital, bringing our total funding to nearly $1B. We're using it to put more autonomous machines to work, build the field and operations teams behind every deployment, and expand into new machine types and job-site tasks.
This is where algorithms meet steel-toed boots. You'll work alongside construction veterans and world-class engineers to solve physical-world problems that simulations can't touch. If you're ready to do meaningful work on hard problems, we'd love to have you join us.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As we scale, every person who works with our machines needs to be trained, qualified, and confident. We're hiring our first Bedrock Training & Certification Lead to build that capability from the ground up.
You will own how people learn to work safely and productively with Bedrock's autonomous system. That covers two audiences: internal teams (field operations, site operators, technicians, remote assistants, and new hires) and external partners (contractor and service crews, supervisors, and equipment operators who run our system on their job sites).
Your biggest build is a “certified” Bedrock University program: a structured certification program that qualifies operators to run Bedrock’s autonomous systems, and that becomes a recognized credential in the construction industry. You'll set the strategy and work closely with Operations, Safety, Engineering, and Product among others.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Strategy & Team Leadership
Set the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for learning and development across Bedrock
Design and develop the best approach to instruction design, technical training, field instruction, and technical writing.
Own the L&D budget, resourcing plan, and vendor and contractor relationships
Partner with Operations, Safety, Engineering, and Product leaders to anticipate training needs as the product and footprint grow
Internal Training Programs
Design onboarding and role-based learning paths for field operations, site operators, remote assistants, and technicians
Build hands-on technical curriculum for autonomous heavy equipment: system setup, task planning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and safe intervention
Turn software releases, new machine capabilities, and SOP changes into training updates quickly
Introduce leadership and manager development as the company scales
Partner Training & Bedrock Certified
Design and launch Bedrock Certified, a certification program that qualifies partner operators and supervisors to run Bedrock autonomous systems
Define certification standards: prerequisites, curriculum (safety, system operation, site setup, plan interpretation, troubleshooting), field assessments, and recertification
Build train-the-trainer programs so certified partner leads can qualify their own crews
Make sure partner teams are trained and certified before and after each site launch
Safety, Quality & Measurement
Embed safety-critical practices, OSHA requirements, and Bedrock SOPs in every program
Keep training materials and SOPs accurate and under version control
Decide on the best method to track learning qualifications and recertification timelines, including enrollments, qualification records, and reporting
Track competency, certification status, time-to-productivity, and safety outcomes, and use the data to improve programs
