Senior High-End Residential Construction Estimator

Level: Senior (10–15+ years of construction estimating or engineering experience)

Location: Remote

Compensation: $4,000–$5,000/month, depending on assessment and experience

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Estimator to support a specialized luxury residential construction company handling ultra-high-end custom home projects valued at $10M+.

This role requires more than traditional estimating experience. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on construction and field experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to accurately model costs for complex builds, particularly those involving remote island locations and challenging logistics.

The estimator will work directly with the owner, who will provide guidance on the company's estimating methodology, project requirements, and quality standards. This is a remote, independent role that does not require site visits.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for luxury custom residential projects valued at $10M+.

Perform comprehensive material quantity takeoffs, including concrete cubic yards, lumber and framing requirements, roofing specifications, and other construction materials.

Calculate and model project costs, factoring in materials, labor, equipment, and construction requirements.

Estimate remote construction logistics, including shipping, fuel, transportation, material sourcing, and delivery timelines to isolated island locations.

Account for unique site conditions, labor productivity, material availability, and scheduling constraints that may affect project costs.

Use Microsoft Excel as the primary tool for estimating, cost modeling, and calculations.

Work directly with the owner to refine and adapt estimating methodologies to the company's specific standards and project requirements.

Independently review estimates, identify potential cost risks, and ensure accuracy and completeness.

Work autonomously in a fully remote environment while maintaining clear communication with the owner.

Ideal Candidate

10–15+ years of hands-on experience in construction estimating, engineering, or related construction roles.

Technical background in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, architecture, or extensive field-based construction estimating.

Strong understanding of construction fundamentals, including material takeoffs, concrete calculations, lumber framing, roofing systems, and general building science.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly for complex calculations, cost modeling, and estimating.

Experience with complex, high-value construction projects, preferably in luxury residential or specialized construction markets.

Familiarity with remote or island construction logistics, including shipping schedules, material sourcing, transportation, fuel costs, and labor productivity challenges.

Experience with international supply chains or logistics-heavy construction projects is a strong advantage.

Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to identify potential cost and project risks.

Self-directed, adaptable, and willing to learn and align with the owner's established estimating methodology.

Humble, coachable, and confident in applying practical field knowledge to technical estimating work.

Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate directly and effectively with the owner.

Preferred Qualifications

Proven experience estimating complex, high-value residential or commercial construction projects.

Background in luxury custom homes, remote locations, island developments, or offshore construction.

Demonstrated ability to estimate projects involving challenging material procurement and international logistics.

Strong understanding of how site conditions, transportation limitations, and labor constraints affect overall construction costs and timelines.

Working Arrangement

Location: Fully remote

Schedule: To be discussed with the client

Reporting: Directly to the company owner
