From our award-winning point-of-sale to AI-powered profit tools, everything we do helps operators boost profit, work smarter, and keep their best people. And every solution is backed by real humans who actually give a sh*t about helping restaurants succeed.
Named the #1 Restaurant POS by G2 (Summer 2026), based on ratings from real users
Rated the top-rated point-of-sale (POS) for restaurants, bars, retail, and small businesses by Capterra users

The opportunity
Every SpotOn engineering team ships code through the delivery platform this team owns, and runs it on the Kubernetes platform it operates. You'll lead the two Infrastructure teams responsible for both: Delivery (CI/CD, GitOps, and the developer platform) and Compute (Kubernetes, EC2).
The platform is mid-transformation. We're consolidating onto one standard path GitHub Actions, Argo CD, and EKS and retiring legacy clusters and pipelines along the way. We are tightening governance and PCI DSS 4.0.1 compliance and bringing AI into how engineers use the platform. You'll take on a strong, experienced team with staff engineers already leading technical work. What it needs from you is people leadership, a customer-focused mindset, a clear operating model, and someone who keeps the platform moving forward and supporting the business.
What the teams own
CI/CD for all of engineering: GitHub Actions with a self-hosted Actions Runner Controller (ARC) fleet, and AWS-managed Argo CD running a hub per domain and serving about 3,700 workloads.
The developer platform: Backstage (catalog, software templates, golden paths), container and artifact registries, secrets delivery, and platform documentation. This includes our platform MCP server and AI skills for engineers.
The EKS fleet: more than 23 GitOps-managed clusters plus the Argo CD hub clusters. That covers capacity and autoscaling with Karpenter, cluster add-ons, Kyverno policy, and a standard Helm chart that defines the contract for every workload.
Cluster lifecycle: EKS upgrades three times a year across about 40 environments in five tiers, coordinated with the teams whose services run on them.
What you'll do
Lead and grow the team. Run 1:1s, set clear expectations, give candid feedback, and own performance and career development.
Free your staff engineers to lead technically. Take on the management and coordination work so they can concentrate on architecture, technical collaboration, and the hardest technical problems.
Collaborate with our other Platform EMs. We may be organized into several teams, but we are one platform domain first. The team boundaries are soft, existing only to help organize expertise.
Help drive operational efficiency. Building and maintaining an efficient and effective platform is a force multiplier for both humans and agents.
Help finish the platform consolidation. Drive the remaining legacy retirement work to completion. That means coordinating with service-owning teams across every R&D domain, keeping risks visible to leadership, and making sure post-migration cleanup has clear owners.
Run the fleet predictably. Make cluster upgrades, capacity work, and partner notifications routine and owned by the team. Balance interrupt-driven work against roadmap commitments.
Treat engineers as customers. Make the golden path the easiest path through good defaults, templates, documentation, and AI-assisted tooling. Use feedback from consuming teams to decide what to build next.
Own reliability and compliance. Lead incident response and learning for delivery and compute, follow through on systemic fixes, and partner with Security on PCI DSS controls for payments workloads.
