Key Responsibilities

Own 100% new-business pipeline generation — build and execute a territory plan for net-new logo acquisition across Metals & Agriculture producers, traders, processors, and merchandisers in North America.

Self-source a majority of your own pipeline — prospecting, outbound campaigns, and account mapping to identify and prioritize target accounts and buying committees within them.

Run the complete new-business sales cycle — discovery, demo, business-case building, negotiation, and close — for every new-logo opportunity you create.

Multi-thread every target account from day one — reach heads of trading, supply and logistics leaders, risk and analytics teams, and commercial/competitive intelligence functions to understand workflows and tailor the Kpler and Maritime product pitch.

Represent Kpler in-market — attending industry events and conferences, and building a credible personal network across the North American metals and agriculture trading community.

Partner cross-functionally — with Product, Sales Engineering, Market Analysts, and Customer Success to sharpen positioning, win themes, and onboarding handoff for newly closed accounts.

Forecast and report with discipline — every new-logo opportunity in the CRM, with clean staging, next steps, and close-date discipline.

Consistently meet or exceed — a net-new logo bookings quota every quarter; this role has no renewal or expansion credit.

Who You'll Sell To

Primary buyer personas for net-new acquisition include:

Heads of trading and trading desks at metals producers, agricultural merchandisers, processors, and marketers

Commercial, supply, and logistics teams evaluating new data and analytics providers

Risk, analytics, and market intelligence functions

Business/competitive intelligence teams currently underserved by, or unhappy with, an incumbent provider

Economic buyers — VP Commercial, Chief Commercial Officer, Director of Trading, Head of Supply & Trading

What Success Looks Like

A documented target-account list and territory map for the Metals & Agriculture vertical within the first 30-60 days

A qualified new-logo pipeline sufficient to cover quota within the first 90 days

Consistent, predictable net-new logo bookings quarter over quarter

A repeatable outbound playbook (messaging, sequencing, objection handling) for the Metals & Agriculture segment that can scale as the team grows

What We're Looking For

5-7+ years of sales experience in a full-cycle, new-business sales role — SaaS, data/analytics, or market intelligence strongly preferred.

A demonstrated track record of hunting for pipeline generation — you have consistently self-sourced a significant share of the opportunities you've closed, not relied primarily on inbound or an existing book.

Experience selling into metals, mining, agriculture, commodities, or trading markets, or a closely adjacent space (financial data, market intelligence, trade-flow, supply chain, or risk analytics platforms).

Comfort running the full sales cycle independently: prospecting, discovery, demo, negotiation, and close

Strong consultative selling and communication skills, with the ability to multi-thread across trading, risk, commercial, and analytics stakeholders

A builder's mindset — energized by creating a territory and playbook from scratch rather than inheriting one

Based in, or willing to relocate to, Miami, New York City, or Houston; able to travel across North America

Nice to Have

Existing relationships with trading, commercial, or risk teams at North American metals or agricultural companies

Familiarity with Kpler or comparable commodity, trade-flow, or maritime data platforms (AIS, freight, storage, or trade-flow data)

Experience selling into base metals, precious metals, mining, grains, oilseeds, softs, or maritime-adjacent markets
