SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary and expanding consciousness to the stars.

SpaceXSI is building Super Intelligence to help humanity understand the universe. Our teams are building the full Super Intelligence stack: from our Colossus supercomputers, to Grok models, to our suite of applications, including Grok Bot, Grok Build, Grok Imagine, Grok Voice, and X. We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Associate Asset Manager to help support the maintenance and lifecycle management of the critical power and facilities equipment supporting SpaceXSI's AI infrastructure in Memphis. This is an entry-level role, open to recent graduates and early-career candidates. Working under the guidance of the Asset Manager, you will learn our equipment and maintenance program on the job while helping build and maintain asset records in our asset management system, track preventive and corrective maintenance, and turn maintenance data into clear reporting that keeps our equipment reliable and our sites running.

This is a full-time, onsite role based in Memphis, Tennessee.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn our equipment, sites, and maintenance program through on-the-job training alongside the Asset Manager, technicians, and vendors.
  • Create and maintain asset records in our asset management / CMMS system, including asset hierarchy, locations, tagging, nameplate data, serial numbers, and warranty information.
  • Assist with field walkdowns to verify, tag, and photograph equipment, and help reconcile physical assets against system records.
  • Help onboard new equipment into the asset management system as new facilities are commissioned, collecting turnover documentation from construction and commissioning teams.
  • Support the setup and upkeep of preventive maintenance (PM) schedules based on manufacturer recommendations and guidance from the Asset Manager.
  • Create and track work orders for preventive and corrective maintenance, following up to ensure timely completion and accurate closeout of labor, parts, and findings.
  • Track PM completion and maintenance backlog, flagging overdue or at-risk work to the Asset Manager.
  • Maintain maintenance history and documentation for each asset, including service reports, test results, inspection records, manuals, drawings, and warranty records.
  • Help track spare parts inventory, including stock levels, usage, and storage locations, and support procurement of replacement parts.
  • Assist with coordinating vendor and service contractor visits, collecting service reports, and keeping service records up to date.
  • Perform routine data quality checks and audits of asset and maintenance records to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Help prepare regular reports and dashboards on metrics such as PM completion, backlog, and work order aging.
  • Assist with gathering condition and maintenance data used for asset lifecycle planning.
  • Support the migration of asset and maintenance data from legacy tools and spreadsheets into new asset management systems, including data cleanup and validation.
  • Follow and help maintain procedures, naming conventions, and data standards for asset and maintenance records.
  • Assist with compiling maintenance history and failure data to support equipment failure reviews.
  • Follow all safety protocols, manufacturer guidelines, and local regulations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, industrial/facilities management, supply chain, business, or a related field, OR equivalent hands-on experience (e.g., military maintenance or logistics, technical school, internships, or maintenance coordinator or technician roles).
