Lead a Tutoring Center and Grow Your Career in Education

Think Zone is hiring a people-focused Tutoring Center Manager to lead our Redwood City Learning Center. You will run the center day to day, lead a team of tutors, build relationships with families, and help grow our local community.

This role is a strong fit if you love working with students, communicate clearly, and want to take ownership of a center. You do not need to have managed a team before, and you do not need sales experience. We will train you. Strong performers can grow from Tutoring Center Manager to Regional Manager and Regional Director.

About Think Zone

Think Zone is a growing network of Bay Area learning centers helping K–8 students build stronger math skills, confidence, and independent learning habits. We combine thoughtfully designed curriculum, technology-driven learning tools, and personalized in-person support. As we expand across the Bay Area, we are creating new opportunities for our team to grow with us.

What You'll Do

Lead your center

  • Oversee daily operations, scheduling, classrooms, and learning resources
  • Onboard, schedule, and support a team of tutors
  • Keep the center organized, welcoming, and running smoothly
  • Partner with other Center Managers and HQ teams for support

Build relationships with students and families

  • Build trusting relationships with students and parents
  • Help families understand their child's learning progress
  • Create a positive experience from a family's first visit through long-term enrollment
  • Work with tutors and families to support student success

Help grow the center

  • Introduce Think Zone programs to prospective families and support trial classes
  • Drive enrollment, retention, and referral initiatives
  • Build relationships with local schools and community organizations
  • Take part in local events and community outreach
  • Work toward center growth goals while earning enrollment commission

Requirements

To be considered, you must:

  • Have a bachelor's degree
  • Have experience working with students in education, tutoring, teaching, or a similar setting
  • Have strong spoken and written English and communicate confidently with parents, students, and tutors
  • Be comfortable with K–8 math and able to explain it to children. You will complete a short math check during the hiring process.
  • Be open to learning sales skills, including talking with families about programs and working toward enrollment goals. Sales experience is not required, and we provide training.
  • Be available for the full schedule listed above, in person in Redwood City
  • Be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in customer success, hospitality, retail, sales, or team leadership
  • Strong organization and the ability to juggle several priorities
  • Initiative and a desire to own a center and its results

Prior management experience is not required. We are happy to train someone who is excited to grow into leadership.

Compensation and Benefits

$30/hour base pay

Commission based on student enrollment

  • Health insurance
  • Paid sick leave
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Training and ongoing management support
  • Regular feedback and professional development

Schedule and Planned Time Off

This is a full-time, in-person position with about 31 scheduled hours per week across 48 working weeks per year. Four weeks are scheduled off each year. Please note these weeks are unpaid:

  • July 4th week
  • Thanksgiving week
  • Christmas week
  • New Year's week

Where This Role Can Take You

As a Tutoring Center Manager, you will gain hands-on experience in people management, operations, customer experience, enrollment, and community outreach. As Think Zone grows, strong performers can move into larger leadership roles:
