Our mission at ŌURA is to empower every person to own their inner potential. Our award-winning products help our global community gain a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using their Oura Ring and its connected app. We've helped millions of people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles.

Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office.

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead end-to-end test strategy, design, development, and deployment of production test solutions for ŌURA products, working closely with internal cross-functional teams and global Contract Manufacturers (CMs).

As a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer at ŌURA, you will own the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing test solutions across the full product lifecycle — from early concept through mass production. You will be a technical leader responsible for test architecture, test software, CM execution, data analytics, and continuous quality improvement. This role requires strong hands-on engineering skills, systems thinking, and the ability to operate effectively across design, operations, quality, and external manufacturing partners.

This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days a week in our San Francisco office.

What You Will Do

  • Drive early and ongoing Design for Testability (DFT) engagement with Hardware, Systems, and Product teams to ensure robust, scalable, and cost-effective product testing.
  • Define test requirements aligned with product specifications and quality targets, incorporating DFMEA/PFMEA, engineering specifications, and test coverage analysis into product development.
  • Own test engineering across the full product lifecycle, from POC and prototype through EVT, DVT, PVT, production ramp, and mass production.
  • Architect, design, and deploy manufacturing test stations, equipment, fixtures, and processes to support high-volume production.
  • Develop and maintain test software and automation using Python, TestStand, and LabVIEW, including instrument control, data acquisition, test sequencing, error handling, and factory data integration.
  • Build modular, scalable, and maintainable test frameworks that support manufacturing efficiency, repeatability, and long-term production needs.
  • Apply statistical methods including GR&R, SPC, Cp/Cpk, correlation analysis, and DOE to validate test capability, drive process improvements, and ensure production readiness.
  • Lead failure analysis, root cause investigations, and resolution of complex production issues, including yield excursions, test coverage gaps, and correlation discrepancies across internal labs and external factories. Drive continuous improvement in product quality, manufacturing yield, and test cost.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface to Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and test equipment vendors, leading test development, qualification, deployment, sustaining, and technical issue resolution.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Hardware, Firmware, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program teams; communicate test readiness, production risks, and technical recommendations to leadership and executive stakeholders.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, test engineering, or automation (assembly, inspection, test station design, or factory deployment).
  • Hands-on experience developing manufacturing test software in Python, C, C++, Rust.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting development builds and mass production with global manufacturing partners.
  • Willingness to travel upto 25% across domestic and international factory sites.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with wearables, consumer electronics, sensors, or embedded systems.
