About Mach Industries

Founded in 2023, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 350 employees, we operate with startup agility and ambition.

Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.

The Role

Mach Industries is seeking an Mechanical Engineer with Avionics Integration expertise to join our team in designing, integrating, and testing the electro-mechanical systems that support next-generation defense platforms. In this hands-on role, you’ll develop avionics mounting architectures, electronics enclosures, PCBA mounting, wire harness accommodation, connector interfaces, EMI/EMC accommodation, and thermal management solutions for reliable, flight-ready hardware.

At Mach Industries, we are redefining the future of defense through advanced, scalable platforms. As a Mechanical Avionics engineer, you will play a key role in taking avionics systems from concept through hardware bring-up, environmental testing, and flight qualification. Collaborating with electrical, firmware, systems, manufacturing, and test teams, you’ll help create rugged, serviceable, and manufacturable hardware built to perform in demanding aerospace environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop avionics or PCBA mounting architectures or enclosures via CAD design and engineering release including GD&T per AMSE Y14.5

Work cross-functionally with electrical engineering teams to develop and verify overall architecture, schematics, layout via ECAD/MCAD data exchange and ICD documentation.

Design avionic accommodation for shock and vibration isolation, serviceability, connector access, EMI/EMC mitigation, grounding, shielding, thermal management, and reliability.

Support the definition and execution of testing for integrated avionics assemblies, including vibration, shock, thermal cycling, ingress protection, and EMI/EMC.

Design fixtures and tooling to manufacture, inspect, qualify, and test avionics hardware

Author test plans, technical documentation, and engineering milestones for cross team and leadership review of your systems.

Ability to support critical development and test milestones, including occasional extended hours and weekends as needed

Required Qualifications

1+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on avionics integration, electronics packaging, or wire harness design (professional, academic, or hobby/project experience considered).

Strong experience with 3D CAD tools (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent) for mechanical design and detailed drawings including GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Practical experience with enclosure design, wire harness routing/integration, and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Demonstrated hands-on experience owning end-to-end hardware development and integration efforts (e.g., student aerospace/rocketry teams, UAV projects, automotive electronics integration, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with environmental acceptance / qualification testing of avionics (vibration, shock, thermal, IP testing).

Working knowledge of thermal management and layout best practices for electronics.

Experience collaborating closely with electrical engineering teams on layout, connector selection, grounding, and shielding.

Knowledge of aerospace or defense standards and requirements for avionics integration.

Experience with analysis (1st order, FEA, Steinberg) for sizing, survivability, and reliability of PCBA assemblies
