About the Role

The Director of Human Resources will lead Gruve’s global people function across six countries, supporting approximately 540 employees. This role will drive global HR strategy, compensation and rewards, performance management, talent acquisition, and HR operations while partnering with the CFO and executive leadership team to support the company’s growth.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience leading multi-country HR functions, building scalable people processes, ensuring employment law compliance, and developing high-performing teams in a fast-growing technology or IT services environment. This leader will play a key role in shaping Gruve’s organizational structure, strengthening employee engagement, and establishing consistent HR practices across global locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and lead Gruve's global HR strategy across the US, India, Singapore, the UAE, Korea, and Japan, aligned with business growth plans.
  • Own compensation and rewards: salary bands, annual merit and promotion cycles, bonus plans, and equity guidelines, using market benchmarks for each country.
  • Run the annual performance review and bonus cycle end to end, including rating calibration across leaders and pay equity reviews.
  • Partner with the CFO on headcount planning, compensation budgets, and people costs.
  • Build HR policies, an employee handbook, and processes that are consistent globally and compliant with local employment laws.
  • Lead talent acquisition strategy with hiring managers, including job leveling, offer approvals, and onboarding.
  • Advise leaders on organization design, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and learning and development programs.
  • Oversee HR operations, HRIS, payroll partners, and benefits administration across countries.
  • Build and lead a small, high-performing HR team, including HR staff in India and other locations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in an HR leadership role.
  • Experience leading HR across multiple countries, ideally including the US and India.
  • Hands-on experience designing and running compensation, merit, and bonus programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of US and California employment law, and familiarity with employment practices in India and APAC.
  • Proven ability to advise senior leaders and influence decisions with data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a venture-backed technology, IT services, or AI company of 300 to 1,000 employees.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR.
  • Experience implementing or managing an HRIS (such as Workday, Rippling, or BambooHR).
  • Experience supporting M&A, international expansion, or entity setup.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The base salary range for this role in the San Francisco Bay Area is $180,000 – $235,000 per year. The final offer will depend on experience, skills, and scope.
  • This role is also eligible for an annual target bonus of 15% of base salary and stock options.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and paid holidays.
