About Flexport

Flexport’s mission is to make global trade so easy there will be more of it. We bring together logistics expertise, technology, and AI to help businesses manage global trade.

The Opportunity

Lead how money moves through Flexport’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) business. Based in Hong Kong, you’ll own regional accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and freight audit, with responsibility for cash collection, payment accuracy, and the teams delivering those results.

You’ll shape how these functions operate as Flexport grows across the region. That means redesigning workflows around AI and agents, developing your team’s capabilities, and turning improvements into measurable business results. You’ll work with global finance leadership and regional partners to set priorities, resolve complex issues, and build processes that work across countries, currencies, and entities.

We’re looking for a finance leader who combines operational depth with curiosity and the ability to build. You’re comfortable challenging an established process, testing a better approach yourself, and leading a team through the change.

You Will

  • Own APAC performance across AR, AP, and freight audit. Set priorities and targets, review results with global finance leadership, and take action on collection risk, payment issues, and operational backlogs.
  • Improve cash collection and reduce overdue receivables. Lead collections strategy, cash application, and dispute resolution; partner with Credit, Billing, Sales, and Operations to address credit blocks and fix recurring causes of delayed payment.
  • Lead accurate, timely supplier and carrier payments. Oversee invoice validation, freight charge reviews, reconciliations, and payment exceptions, resolving discrepancies with vendors and operational teams before they become recurring problems.
  • Build, test, and deploy AI agents and automated workflows with Finance Systems and technical partners. Focus on practical uses such as prioritizing collections, coordinating follow-ups, reviewing invoices, matching payments, and identifying exceptions.
  • Own improvements from problem definition through adoption. Set a baseline, prioritize the highest-value opportunities, test workflows against real cases, and measure their effect on accuracy, processing time, and cash performance.
  • Lead and develop regional teams. Set clear expectations, coach performance, build future leaders, and help people use AI effectively while applying judgment to complex customer and vendor situations.
  • Maintain strong financial controls as workflows change. Define approval and exception handling, verify automated outputs, and protect data integrity. Partner with Accounting and Tax to meet local invoicing, tax, and statutory requirements.
  • Standardize processes across APAC while accounting for local requirements. Lead system testing and adoption, document operating practices, and give senior stakeholders clear recommendations on risks and investment priorities.

Success in Your First Year

  • Collections improve against agreed targets, with lower overdue balances and days sales outstanding (DSO), faster dispute resolution, and fewer unresolved cash application issues.
