Senior HR Generalist
ABOUT EARNIN
As one of the first pioneers of earned wage access, our passion at EarnIn is building products that deliver real-time financial flexibility for people living paycheck to paycheck. Our community members access their earnings as they earn them, with options to spend, save, and grow their money without mandatory fees, interest rates, or credit checks. We’re fortunate to have an incredibly experienced leadership team, combined with world-class funding partners like A16Z, Matrix Partners, DST, Ribbit Capital, and a very healthy core business with a tremendous runway. We’re growing fast and excited to bring on world-class talent to help shape the next chapter of our growth journey.
EarnIn is becoming an AI-native company, embedding AI agents into how we build, analyze, and operate across every function. Teams use AI Agents to move from ideas to execution faster. By letting agents handle repetitive tasks, our people can focus on judgment, creativity, and hard problems. We pair this experimentation with the strict review and security guardrails our regulated financial environment requires, always keeping a focus on privacy and the people who rely on our products.
As a company, we are becoming AI-native, and we encourage you to use AI tools throughout much of your interview process. If you use AI during the live interview, just say so; a quick, natural mention of how it helped and why you are using it is all we need. What we're evaluating is your judgment, reasoning, and ability to own and defend your work, not whether AI was involved. Some rounds, particularly those focused on your career history and past experiences, will not allow the use of AI, and we'll let you know of those in advance. When in doubt, ask your recruiter or interviewer directly.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Senior HR Generalist to join our People Operations team in Mexico City as both a hands-on contributor and a thought partner. You will help build and maintain the policies, SOPs, and programs that keep our global People team running well. You will also step back regularly to ask how we can improve our workflows and bring recommendations to do so. You bring a systems thinking mindset. You see how people, processes, vendors, and tools connect, and you are equally comfortable completing a tactical task and redesigning the process behind it. You have broad experience across HR and People Operations, and you use AI as a natural part of how you work and help others do the same. You will also support people initiatives such as new platform rollouts and performance cycle coordination. A smaller share of your time will go to hands-on People Operations support, such as Workday updates, onboarding, and offboarding, in partnership with our managed benefits services provider, People Partners, and the People Operations team. The mix will shift as our systems, vendors, and priorities change, so we are looking for someone who is energized by that flexibility. This is a hybrid role based in our Mexico City office, with 2 days on-site per week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Thought Partnership and Systems Thinking
- Act as a thought partner to People Operations leadership on how our workflows, systems, and vendor partnerships should work as we scale, bringing recommendations and not only observations
- Map end-to-end processes (for example, benefits, leave, onboarding, offboarding, and the help desk), identify handoffs, failure points, and manual steps, and design and implement improvements, using automation and AI where they make the work faster or more reliable
- Use patterns from requests, cases, and audit findings to spot trends, prioritize improvements, and make the case for change
- Help define how work is divided between the internal team, our managed services provider, and People Partners, and document who does what so requests land in the right place
- Evaluate new tools, vendors, and automation opportunities across People Operations, and help decide where AI or process change will have the most impact
