Position overview

Rapid Capabilities builds a large number of Clarity Innovations' products. The Chief Product Manager owns execution of product development across that portfolio and builds the product processes the organization needs to scale. The role works alongside the VP & CTO, who sets product strategy and vision, and turns that direction into roadmaps, priorities and shipped outcomes.

This is a high-scope, high-pressure role in a lean organization. The right candidate is technically fluent, comfortable leading many concurrent efforts, and effective inside complex organizational and policy environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategy support. Translate the VP & CTO's vision into an outcome-based portfolio roadmap, with KPIs that tie each product to company goals.
  • Product process. Design, implement and continuously improve product practices (discovery, framing, prioritization, release) across all actively maintained and supported projects.
  • Execution. Own product development from concept through general availability, making scope and priority calls and partnering with engineering on technical tradeoffs and delivery performance.
  • Stakeholder management. Represent product direction to executives, customers and partners, and manage competing demands across programs.
  • Operations. Support process, funding and IP management for projects across the company.
  • Talent. Help recruit, coach and grow product talent as the organization scales.

Required qualifications

  • 10+ years in product management, including at least 5 years leading product across multiple concurrent cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated record of measurable product outcomes, such as sustained user growth, workflow time reduction or cost savings.
  • Strong engineering fluency: able to engage credibly on architecture, technical debt and tradeoffs, with hands-on experience in at least one modern programming language or framework.
  • Experience improving software delivery performance using recognized measures (e.g., DORA metrics) across cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Working mastery of Lean, user-centered design and Agile/XP practices, including discovery, framing and iteration planning.
  • Proven ability to build or mature a product practice: defining standards, playbooks and career expectations for product roles.
  • Track record of navigating complex organizational structures, bureaucracy and policy or compliance requirements to deliver results.
  • Composure and sound judgment under sustained pressure and competing priorities

Preferred qualifications

  • Active TS clearance (SCI eligible).
  • Experience delivering software for defense, intelligence or other government mission customers, ideally in a software-factory or rapid-acquisition setting.
  • Experience with mission or data platforms common in the defense space.
  • History of advising senior executives and shaping organizational policy, standards or workforce structures.
