WE WANT PEOPLE WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT CUSTOMER RETENTION AND RENEWALS

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Renewals Manager to build and lead our first global Renewals team. This is a customer-facing role: you and your team will speak directly with coaches, performance staff, athletic directors and procurement teams to guide renewals from first conversation to signature, working in close partnership with the Business Development Manager (BDM) who owns each customer relationship and coordinating with them on account strategy. Based in Boston, you will set up the processes, forecasting rhythm and team culture that turn renewals into a predictable, well-run engine. You will manage our Renewal Specialists across regions and own the retention outcomes for the book, partnering closely with BDMs, Customer Success, Legal, Finance and Commercial Operations to make every renewal on-time, accurate and competitive.

You will lead the team and also stay close to the work, stepping into complex renewals and negotiations with customers yourself (alongside the BDM. It is a rare chance to shape a function from day one, defining how the team works, how success is measured and how specialists grow their careers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Be the direct line manager for the Renewal Specialists (hiring, onboarding, goal setting, performance reviews, coaching and development) and help define career progression as the team grows and the role develops into tiers.
  • Lead customer conversations on complex, strategic or at-risk renewals alongside the BDM, and manage a portfolio of your own where the team needs it, so you lead by example and stay close to customers and the process.
  • Own renewal performance: be accountable for gross revenue retention, net revenue retention, logo retention and on-time renewal rate across the portfolio, with a clear plan for reducing late renewals.
  • Establish a reliable renewal forecasting cadence with accurate commitments at 90 and 30 days out, and report status, risks and opportunities to commercial leadership.
  • Create repeatable playbooks for the renewal lifecycle, including engaging customers about 120 days out in coordination with the BDM, quoting, contracting, procurement and signature, plus a seasonal renewal calendar by sport and region, working with BDMs, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, Deal Desk and RevOps.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 5+ years of customer-facing experience in renewals, account management, sales or revenue operations at a SaaS or technology company, including experience leading, mentoring or managing a team.
  • A track record of owning retention and renewal targets, and of improving them through process, coaching and data.
  • Strong commercial skills, including pricing, contract terms, negotiation with customers and procurement teams, and price uplift strategy.
  • The ability to work in a shared-ownership model, partnering with sales colleagues who hold the customer relationship while driving renewal outcomes and timelines.
  • Comfort with CRM, reporting and forecasting tools (Salesforce or similar), plus excellent communication skills, including confidence presenting to customers and executives and coordinating across time zones and regions.
