The Instructional Designer and Facilitator is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality training programs that support Castelion's manufacturing, engineering, quality, safety, and operational teams. This role partners with subject matter experts (SMEs) across the organization to translate technical processes into engaging, competency-based learning experiences that prepare employees to perform safely, efficiently, and consistently in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

In addition to instructional design and content development, this position serves as a training instructor and facilitator, delivering engaging instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on training sessions, supporting employee skill development, and evaluating learning effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, safety, HR, and other SMEs to identify training needs and create effective learning solutions.
  • Develop competency-based learning paths, qualifications, assessments, and certification programs aligned with operational requirements.
  • Create engaging learning materials including presentations, job aids, process-based training, videos, knowledge checks, and interactive learning content.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, learner-focused instructional content for diverse audiences.
  • Build and maintain training content within the company's Learning Management System (360Learning).
  • Design formative and summative assessments to evaluate learner knowledge, competency, and training effectiveness.
  • Support implementation of role-based competency frameworks and qualification programs.
  • Monitor learner progress and training completion while analyzing performance data to continuously improve training effectiveness.
  • Ensure training content remains current with engineering changes, manufacturing processes, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
  • Assist with onboarding programs and new hire training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support compliance with AS9100, OSHA, export compliance, cybersecurity, and other required training initiatives.
  • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Training Delivery & Facilitation

  • Facilitate instructor-led training sessions, workshops, and other learning activities for employees across departments.
  • Deliver technical and operational training through presentations, discussions, hands-on activities, and practical demonstrations in collaboration with qualified SMEs and technical instructors.
  • Assess learner understanding and competency through knowledge checks, practical exercises, and performance-based evaluations, providing feedback and adapting instruction to improve learning outcomes.
  • Support train-the-trainer initiatives by developing facilitator resources and coaching SMEs and internal instructors to ensure consistent and effective training delivery.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Adult Learning, Human Performance, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and developing instructor-led and/or eLearning training programs.
  • Experience conducting learning needs analyses and developing measurable learning objectives.
