About Zip

Zip is the AI platform for enterprise procurement — built for humans and agents working together. By orchestrating procurement across teams, tools, and suppliers with the help of AI agents, companies can secure the resources they need to innovate faster than ever before.

The world’s most influential enterprises trust Zip, including T-Mobile, OpenAI, AMD, Mars, Dollar Tree, and more. Together they’ve saved over $8 billion and processed over $500 billion in spend. Zip’s team includes product leaders from Apple, Airbnb, and Meta, as well as former procurement leaders from United Health, Sanofi, MGM Resorts, Discover, and NASA.

Backed by Adams Street, Alkeon, BOND, CRV, DST, Tiger Global, and Y Combinator, Zip has raised $371 million, most recently at a $2.2 billion valuation and has been recognized by Forbes Fintech 50, Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies, Inc. Best in Business, and LinkedIn Top Startups.

Your Role

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, IT Operations & Information Security to lead the team that keeps Zip’s employees productive and our corporate technology secure. You’ll own daily IT operations and the employee experience of technology, from onboarding through offboarding, across our offices and remote locations. At Zip, every team builds with AI. We expect IT to lead by example, designing and shipping AI-assisted ways to run IT and bringing the team along.

You’ll lead a team across San Francisco, New York, and Toronto, and other global offices in future. This is a player-coach role. Expect to spend about a third of your time hands-on, unblocking urgent issues, configuring systems, and leading incidents. The rest goes to setting priorities, coaching, and building a team that runs well without you in the room. Your security scope is corporate security: employee identities, endpoints, SaaS applications, and office networks. Product security is owned by other teams. Occasional travel to our New York and Toronto offices is expected.

You’ll also lead IT’s work with AI. Working with Enterprise Technology and Internal AI, you’ll roll out and secure the AI tools our employees use, build agents that take on routine IT work, and set the standards for how AI gets access to our systems, so IT scales as Zip grows.

You Will

Lead daily IT operations. Own support coverage, ticket queues, and escalations across time zones. Make sure every critical service has a primary and backup owner, and run an on-call rotation for after-hours incidents.

Own the employee technology lifecycle. Partner with People and hiring managers on onboarding, role changes, and offboarding, from ready-to-use devices and access to timely deprovisioning, session revocation, and equipment recovery.

Run core IT systems. Administer and improve Google Workspace, Okta, Iru, Zoom, and our IT service management platform. Keep standards, documentation, and runbooks current.

Manage endpoints, identity, and access. Oversee the device lifecycle, patching, and compliance, along with SSO, MFA, SCIM provisioning, and regular access reviews that enforce least privilege.

Keep offices connected. Own office networking, Wi-Fi, Zoom Rooms, and conference-room AV with Workplace and integrators, including office moves and buildouts.

Lead corporate security operations and incident response. Own the security of employee identities, endpoints, SaaS applications, and office networks. Direct the senior security engineer and our managed monitoring provider, triage alerts, drive vulnerabilities and misconfigurations through to remediation, and act as incident commander for corporate security incidents. Support audits such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001, security awareness, and customer security reviews of our corporate environment. Partner with Engineering where corporate and product concerns meet.

Build AI-native IT. Design and ship agents and automations that resolve routine requests end to end, such as access requests, device troubleshooting, and onboarding readiness, with approvals and logging. Measure what they resolve and where they fail, and teach the team to build their own.
