About the Role
Build and own patient-facing AI agents for a healthtech platform supporting clinical trial recruitment. This founding engineering role focuses on creating conversational experiences that can scale while remaining safe in a regulated industry.
What You'll Do
Orchestrate AI agents that coordinate patient recruitment across multiple clinical trials.
Analyze production conversations, identify failure scenarios, create evaluations, and improve the agent harness.
Integrate health profile data so agents can engage patients at relevant moments and support trial recruitment.
Scale language-model experiences across voice, SMS, and email while maintaining consistent, personalized conversations.
Evaluate emerging agent tools and research and incorporate useful advances into the software platform.
What We're Looking For
Zero to four years of experience as a software engineer, agent engineer, or applied AI engineer.
Experience focused on building production AI agents or large-scale AI applications, beyond prototypes or internal tools.
Experience building conversational agents and agent harnesses at scale, for text or voice.
Experience developing evaluation and tracing infrastructure for AI agents.
Familiarity with conversational AI, LLMs, multi-agent orchestration, LangGraph, Vercel AI SDK, voice AI, SMS APIs, or CTMS and CRM integrations.
An undergraduate degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field, with strong technical fundamentals.
Ability to work independently, tackle difficult engineering problems, and make progress through ambiguity.
Healthtech experience or a strong interest in the field is valued, as is experience with consumer-facing conversational products.
