About the Role
Join a small aerospace and defense engineering team as its first dedicated electrical engineer. You will prepare a satellite flight computer for deployment and contribute to the electronics and compute systems that support in-orbit AI inference.
What You'll Do
Design and own the flight computer for an upcoming satellite mission.
Build prototypes, bring up hardware, and debug systems in the Los Angeles lab with engineering leadership.
Collaborate with manufacturing partners on electronics and compute systems for a larger satellite platform.
Guide high-speed interconnect decisions, including NVLink and SerDes, and assess photonics and optical interconnects.
Develop firmware and platform software for payloads as needed.
What We're Looking For
Between 0 and 15 years of electrical or computer engineering experience, with startup or zero-to-one product development experience.
End-to-end experience designing custom boards or system boards, including schematics, high-speed PCB layout, bring-up, and debugging.
Knowledge of high-speed digital design, signal integrity, and power integrity.
A degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with GPUs, accelerators, SoCs, or large ASICs is helpful, as is familiarity with photonics, optical interconnects, networking, or satellite and radiation-hardened hardware.
Experience working with contract manufacturers or original design manufacturers is valued.
Relevant tools and technologies include schematic capture, high-speed PCB design, embedded C/C++, firmware, Linux, and Python.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary is $120,000 to $220,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. Equity and other benefits were not specified.
Location
