Hybrid role based in our Dublin office, with occasional travel to our UK offices as needed

About us

Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform, on a mission to help more people invest, and invest well.

We’re building the infrastructure behind the next generation of investing. Our technology already powers some of the UK’s most ambitious fintechs, banks, financial advisers and wealth firms, with close to a million investors relying on Seccl-powered platforms. And we’re now expanding into Europe, starting in Ireland.

We’ve got a proven product, strong momentum and big ambitions for what comes next: helping more household-name brands launch and scale investment propositions, entering new markets and replacing outdated investment infrastructure with technology that’s faster, simpler and built for scale.

We’re proud to be part of Octopus, one of the UK’s most successful privately held investment and technology groups. That gives us the backing and long-term perspective to build something substantial, while keeping the pace and energy of a high-growth business. Seccl and Octopus are both B Corp certified and share a belief that profit and purpose should go hand in hand.

If you want to help build the next chapter of Seccl in Ireland and shape the future of investing across Europe, you’ll be in good company.

The role

As Head of finance for Seccl Ireland, you'll own our financial reporting, capital position and financial controls. You'll make sure the numbers are right, the capital is there, and that our board and the Central Bank of Ireland can rely on both.

This is a Pre-Approval Controlled Function (PCF-11) under the Central Bank's Fitness and Probity regime. You'll be the named individual accountable for finance at Seccl Ireland, reporting on those matters to the Seccl Ireland Board. You can be a previous PCF holder, or a first-time PCF holder who is ready to take a step up to take on that responsibility.

You'll join as one of our early Dublin hires, supporting authorisation and building the finance function as we grow. That means setting up the processes, controls and reporting rhythm of a regulated business from the start, while working closely with finance colleagues in the UK. You'll be as comfortable presenting to the board as you are getting into the detail of a reconciliation.

What you’ll own

Owning Seccl Ireland’s statutory accounts, management accounts and board financial reporting, so they’re accurate, timely and audit-ready

Leading the annual external audit, from the timetable and evidence requests through to responding to findings

Owning the regulatory reporting calendar and monitoring capital, own funds and liquidity, so the board always has a clear view of our position

Acting as the key point of contact for the Central Bank on finance and regulatory matters, supporting our authorisation and ongoing supervisory relationship

Building the financial controls, policies and processes for a regulated business from scratch, using automation where it makes sense

Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling with the Irish leadership team, and recommending the annual plan to the board

Giving our Ireland CEO and leadership team clear, commercially minded financial insight that shapes decisions early

This role’s for you if...

You have significant finance experience in a regulated Irish financial services business

You hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) and membership of a recognised professional body

You understand the prudential requirements for investment firms in Ireland, including capital, own funds and liquidity

You have a strong technical grounding in financial reporting, statutory accounts and audit under IFRS or FRS 102

You’re confident presenting to boards and audit committees, and engaging directly with auditors and regulators

You’re hands-on and self-sufficient, comfortable building processes from scratch and flexing across the group
