About Us

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is a joint venture between two industry leaders with a clear vision for automotive’s next chapter. From operating systems to zonal controllers to cloud and connectivity solutions, we’re addressing the challenges of electric vehicles through technology that will set the standards for software-defined vehicles around the world.

The road to the future is uncharted. By combining our expertise across connectivity, AI, security and more, we’ll map a new way forward. Working together, we’ll create a future that’s more connected, more intelligent, more sustainable for everyone.

Job Description:

Responsible for Low-Level System Profiling and Performance Testing and conduct comprehensive system profiling on embedded hardware components including firmware and image signal processors, to identify performance bottlenecks, ensure thermal efficiency, and validate system stability under real-world automotive conditions. Test firmware and hardware integration to ensure seamless functionality across different camera models and embedded systems configurations. Execute long-duration and stress tests under various conditions to identify potential weaknesses in system stability and performance. Work closely with hardware and firmware engineers to understand system-level requirements and ensure hardware software

compatibility. Develop and execute HIL test setups to simulate real-world automotive conditions, validating camera system interactions within an emulated hardware environment to catch issues before deployment. Also implement SIL testing for embedded software and AI models to ensure robustness and compatibility before hardware integration. Test system behavior under simulated conditions to identify and resolve issues early in the development cycle. Validate the deployment and integration of AI models within firmware, ensuring compatibility, accuracy, and stability across different camera hardware configurations and OEM specification. Test and validate GenAI and computer vision models, ensuring accuracy, latency, and robustness across diverse environmental conditions, such as low light and high-motion scenarios. Develop and execute test cases for model training, deployment, and edge case handling. Write test automation scripts to automate unit, functional, stress and end to end testing. Domestic and international travel required approximately 25% of the time.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience in any occupation as systems engineer, embedded software developer, or related. Must have experience working with the following: Software or embedded systems testing with a focus on camera systems, computer vision, and/or low-level firmware.; testing frameworks and tools used in embedded and AI testing environments; performing hardware-software integration testing and knowledge of embedded software debugging; translating OEM specifications into detailed test plans and validation procedures; using proactive approach to identifying and resolving bottlenecks; performing embedded systems testing, including firmware, hardware interaction, and low-level performance profiling; using performance and thermal profiling tools tailored to embedded systems; working with diagnostics and SOVD, UDS(ISO 14229), OpenCV, automation test development, TestRail, infotainment release testing, and OTA validation; performing with C/C++, Python, and automotive software integration; and managing and maintaining automation pipelines for validation and release testing activities.
