Why this role matters

As an Engineering Operations Coordinator, you'll work directly with the Engineering Operations Lead, taking on the planning, tracking, documentation and follow-up work that keeps cross-functional engineering teams on schedule. You'll help close the loop between Engineering, AIT, Supply Chain and other internal and external stakeholders, within a cutting-edge R&D program in the European New Space (and New Defense) industry.

We are looking for someone who is excited about defense and space technologies and wants to grow in engineering program management.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

Project support

Support the Engineering Operations Lead in daily operations and activity planning.

Follow up with internal and external stakeholders on actions, deliverables and deadlines, and flag slippage early.

Prepare agendas, take minutes and track actions and decisions for technical meetings and reviews.

Help assemble the right experts for technical decisions and keep a clear record of outcomes.

Planning and tracking

Assist with the work breakdown structure (WBS) and keep it up to date.

Maintain and update the project timeline and milestone trackers.

Maintain the risk and issue register, and prepare inputs for risk assessments and mitigation plans.

Highlight bottlenecks and dependencies to the Lead before they become blockers.

Configuration and documentation

Support configuration management activities, including document control, baselines and change tracking.

Keep project documentation organized, current and easy to find.

Review documentation for gaps and inconsistencies and raise them with owners.

Supply chain and AIT interface

Track the status of critical orders and long-lead items, and give the team visibility on them.

Support prioritization discussions with Supply Chain.

Coordinate information flow between Engineering and AIT (readiness, availability, open items).

Reporting and process

Prepare regular status reports, dashboards and resource allocation overviews.

Help document and share project management best practices across the organization.

Suggest and implement improvements to tools and workflows.

What we’re looking for

Must haves

Degree (or equivalent experience) in Science or Engineering.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to read project documentation and spot gaps.

Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort following up with people and raising issues.

Proficiency with planning and tracking tools (for example Jira, Confluence, MS Project or similar) and spreadsheets.

Ability to work with limited information, make reasonable assumptions and adjust as things become clear.

Proactive mindset: you say "let me take a look" and come back with options.

Nice to haves

Experience in space, defense, aerospace or other hardware engineering environments.

Exposure to configuration management, AIT or supply chain processes.
