The Opportunity

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to shape the systems that give Hinge Health care-team members a clear, actionable view of the people they support. Member Records is the care-team-facing context layer within CareHub: it brings together member history, clinical context, active programs, program focus, indications, device and fulfillment status, onboarding progress, and program transitions so care teams can spend less time navigating fragmented systems and more time delivering personalized care.

As a hands-on technical leader, you will help define the architecture and technical direction for Member Records while continuing to build production software. You will work across the user interface, backend services, APIs, and data models, partnering with Product, Design, Clinical, Quality, and adjacent engineering teams. You will turn complex healthcare workflows into reliable, intuitive experiences and lead work from discovery and technical design through implementation, launch, and operational support.

This is an opportunity to own a meaningful product area end to end, influence technical decisions beyond your immediate team, and raise the quality, reliability, and effectiveness of the systems and engineers around you.

What You'll Accomplish

Lead the architecture and end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-service Member Records initiatives—from discovery through production—bringing clarity to ambiguous requirements, dependencies, and trade-offs.

Set and advance a multi-quarter technical direction for Member Records in partnership with engineering and product leadership.

Establish durable technical patterns for APIs, domain models, integrations, testing, observability, and secure handling of member data.

Mentor and support junior engineers, providing thoughtful code reviews and real-time pairing.

Integrate and leverage AI technologies to automate processes and enhance product features.

Raise the engineering bar through high-quality design and code reviews, pairing, mentoring, hiring participation, and coaching other engineers toward greater technical ownership.

Strengthen operational ownership by defining meaningful health metrics, improving incident response, and addressing root causes rather than symptoms.

Hinge Health Hybrid Model

We believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Employees in hybrid roles are required to be in the office 3 days/week.

This is a Bengaluru-based role that involves regular interaction and collaboration with Hinge Health colleagues in San Francisco, CA.

Time zones: San Francisco is in the Pacific Time Zone, which is 12 hours and 30 minutes behind India Standard Time (e.g., 8am in San Francisco is 8:30pm in Bengaluru).

Hours: Applicants should be open to meetings in the late evening following India Standard Time to align with San Francisco working hours (8am - 6pm PT).

Basic Qualifications

9+ years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful experience delivering production software.

3+ years hands-on experience with TypeScript and modern React application development.

3+years backend experience with Node.js, service development, API design, and integration patterns.

1+ years of experience in mentoring and leading junior team members, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, and contributing to project planning and decision-making

Experience with using AI tools such as Github copilot or Cursor

Preferred Qualifications

Full stack engineer with strong experience to backend technology like NodeJS, RDBMS

Exposure to microservices, distributed systems, containerization,
