Company Description

We’re Checkout.com. You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day.

We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion global shoppers.

Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there’s a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale.

If you want to do career-defining work, you’ve come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact.

With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we’re shaping the future of fintech – and we’re just getting started.

As Manager, Events & Experiential Marketing, you’ll lead a portfolio of high-impact experiences for Checkout.com’s customers, prospects, partners and people.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll own complex, high-priority programs from strategy through to delivery, measurement and reconciliation, while managing and developing early-career marketers and coaching colleagues across the business.

Working closely with the Director of Events & Experiential Marketing, you’ll translate marketing and commercial priorities into annual plans, quarterly commitments and measurable results. You’ll be accountable for the delivery, budget and quality of your work, helping to strengthen the team’s capabilities and raise the standard of our work.

This role is offered on an 18-month fixed-term basis as maternity leave cover.

How you’ll make an impact

Portfolio planning and delivery

Turn business priorities into a focused annual plan and quarterly commitments, directly contributing to relevant team OKRs and helping to make prioritization calls across audience, scope, resources and timing

Act as the subject matter expert for experiences such as SXSW London, the Checkout Advisory Board, Commercial Kickoff, Thrive, owned roadshows and more

Personally lead the most complex programs from business case and experience design through execution, measurement and closeout, coordinating suppliers and internal partners

Set clear responsibilities, milestones and review points. Anticipate risks, resolve escalations and maintain pace without compromising accuracy or the audience experience

Budget management and performance

Manage the portfolio’s allocated budget, shape investment cases and recommend spending across programs based on expected value and evidence of returns

Define the right program measures of success across brand, audience engagement, customer and prospect relationships, commercial contribution, content performance and operational excellence

Use reporting and post-event reviews to decide what to improve, scale or stop

Ground decisions in customer insight and stakeholder feedback, connecting events and their content to wider campaigns and commercial follow-through.

Lead and develop people

Manage and develop Marketing Graduates through clear goals, coaching, feedback, meaningful ownership and structured opportunities to build their marketing capabilities

Coach team members and project partners to think strategically, make sound decisions and connect their work to wider marketing and business outcomes

Balance personal delivery with team execution: step into complex work when your expertise is needed, while ensuring the team retains ownership and grows through the work

Cross-functional influence and expertise

Align senior stakeholders across Marketing, Commercial and partner functions, securing agreement on objectives, investment and delivery expectations
