About the Role

Camunda runs on trusted data for people and agents. The Holistic Data Platform (HDP) is how we get there: a data warehouse, consumption layer, and a context layer that agents use to answer questions about pipeline, bookings, ARR and product usage. We are hiring a Data Engineer who builds that platform and also cares whether the numbers are right, whether the business uses them, and whether an agent gives a correct answer on top of them. You will work directly with Corporate Strategy, Finance, Sales, Product, and Marketing leaders.

What you'll be doing

The consumption and context layers. Design models, metric definitions, and documentation that make HDP legible to both people and agents. A metric that two teams read differently is a bug you own.

Data quality as a product. Define what “correct” means for each important metric, test for it, monitor it, and tell us fast when it breaks. Reconcile HDP against data sources.

Agent reliability. Build evals for the agents that sit on HDP. Review their answers, find the wrong ones, and fix the cause in the data, the docs, or the prompt context.

Pipelines and platform. Ingestion, orchestration, dbt, CI/CD, and cost control.

Enablement. Make it easy for analysts and business owners to get answers without you.

Judgment calls. Decide which requests deserve a model, which deserve a one-off query, and which deserve a “no, and here is why.”

What you bring

We’re looking for an experienced data engineer with ML/AI experience who’s comfortable working in an AI-native environment

Ability and/or willingness to use Camunda’s product

5+ years of Data Engineering or ML experience

Strong data modeling skills and several years of experience with dbt.
